SAIL Pragyan Campus
Women making bamboo craft
Bokaro Steel Plant’s SAIL Pragyan Campus, having two school buildings stands as a testament to
empowerment and opportunity. One is the SAIL SWAG Centre, where SWAG stands for
Self - Reliant Women Artisan Group, which provides training and production facilities for the
women artisans from all nearby villages to make handicraft items from bamboo and water hyacinth.
Around 250 women are using it for their earnings. The second is the Pragyan Technical Training
Centre, empowering village youth with technical skills, the campus has become a hub of aspiration and
growth. This provides technical training to the village youth to enhance their employability in plant and
other places. Through partnerships with M/s Dalmia Bharat Foundation and NABARD, the Skill
Development Centre at Bokaro-Diksha has become a gateway to self-employment for rural youths,
offering NSDC-approved courses and fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
In the midst of challenges and aspirations, SAIL's CSR efforts illuminate a path of hope and
empowerment, where communities flourish, and dreams take flight. As individuals and communities
embrace opportunities for growth and self-reliance, the journey towards sustainable livelihoods
becomes a collective endeavor, driven by the spirit of empowerment and resilience.
Pattachitra Art Training

Pattachitra Art comes alive, offering promising income opportunities for rural
underprivileged women. Through a structured training program, RSP-CSR
partners with SWAD to equip beneficiaries with essential skills, fostering
economic empowerment. As women embark on a journey of mastery, SWAD
provides continuous guidance and
marketing support, paving the way
for economic sustainability. With
each brushstroke, a narrative of
tradition and empowerment unfolds,
promising a brighter future for
generations to come.
