(ORMAS), the artisans gained access
to wider markets. Their meticulously
crafted bamboo products were
showcased at prestigious events like
the Rath Yatra Exhibition in Puri,
amplifying their visibility and
Unique bamboo creations of local artisan women
economic opportunities.
SAIL’s Salem Steel Plant offers Multi - Skill Garment Technician Training Program which offers a ray of
hope, promising to equip those ladies in need with the skills needed to ensure a secure livelihood. J.
Gomathi and J. Gogulalakshmi, the two sisters who lost their father and faced severe hardships found
their footing in world with the skills they acquired at this training. Determined to turn their lives
around, Gomathi and Gogulalakshmi embraced the opportunity with open arms. Despite their initial
apprehensions, they threw themselves wholeheartedly into the program, soaking up every bit of
knowledge like parched earth after rain.
