Through skill development programs, vocational training, and entrepreneurship opportunities, SAIL
has become a beacon of hope for women across rural India. At SAIL, we understand the vital role
women play in shaping a holistic society. We firmly believe that by enhancing the socio-economic
status of women residing in the peripheral areas of our plants and mines through various CSR projects
and Mahila Samitis, we not only strengthen our society but also bring smiles to the faces of countless
         women and their families.

Meet Magdali Pan, a resilient housewife in the quiet town of Kiriburu in
West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. When her entire family including
her husband and daughter were having a tough time, in 2009, they

found a ray of hope as that was the time when SAIL’s Project Kiran was
started and gave them a ray of hope. This initiative of SAIL, dedicated to
empowering unemployed women in remote areas, offered Magdali the

chance to learn invaluable skills like weaving.

In a commendable initiative, SAIL - BSL has set up three self-
employment centres namely Kiran, Soubhagya and Aashayein at
its Kiriburu Iron Ore Mines, Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mines and
                                          Gua Ore Mines respectively.
