Food for Life Project
SAIL's collaboration with ISKCON for
the "Food for Life Project" is another
significant step towards addressing
malnutrition. Through this project,
nutritious meals are distributed in the
anaemic and malnourished peripheral
villages of Bokaro steel city, fostering
community well-being. Through this
collaboration, ISKCON manages the
daily operations of the base kitchen
and ensures the delivery of meals to
500 beneficiaries. Using ISKCON’s
expertise in running such projects, where they already have several base kitchens and meal
distribution setups across various parts of the country, SAIL aims to address the issue of malnutrition
affected areas in the district. This novel initiative, set up near Chakulia village in Chas-Bokaro, within
the ISKCON premises, has a base kitchen constructed under SAIL's CSR, spanning approximately
3000 square feet.
Nutrition is a fundamental aspect of human development, and addressing malnutrition requires
collective efforts. SAIL's CSR initiatives, such as the Gift Milk Programme, collaboration with the
Akshaya Patra Foundation, and partnership with ISKON, demonstrate a commitment to ensuring the
well-being of communities. By providing nutritious meals and fortified milk, SAIL is not only
nourishing bodies but also nurturing futures, one meal at a time. These initiatives reflect the
company's ethos of corporate social responsibility and its dedication to building healthier, happier
communities.
