Centre for Engineering & Technology (CET) was formed in 1982 in pursuance of decision taken by SAIL Board in its 83rd meeting held on 28th January 1982. CET is the engineering and technology consultant for all project needs, including preparation of Feasibility reports, Tender Specifications, Evaluation of Bids, Design & Engineering and designer supervision in iron & steel making and related areas like mine planning & development, industrial piping, material handling systems, pollution control system, water supply & sanitation, power plants, etc

CET has Sub-Centre’s at following locations:

CET is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization. CET came into being in 1982 to fulfill the need for establishing a team equipped with latest technical know-how to achieve a decisive edge over the competitors. From a modest beginning, it has come a long way and has established itself firmly, handling projects of all hues & shades related to Mining & Steel Industry. With the experience gained, especially in brown-field projects, it has grown into a full-fledged consultancy unit of the steel industry with its head office at Ranchi.

CET lays emphasis on systematic and focused approach towards its human resources to ensure quality deliverables on time. Providing technical managerial inputs, regular international exposure and creating & sustaining a culture of knowledge management are helping CET in building a competent and knowledgeable work force.

CET is headed by the Executive Director, who is assisted by an experienced team of Chief General Managers (CGMs) at Ranchi and various sub-centres. Heads of various Departments (HODs) complete the managerial set-up in running its operations smoothly
